2023-08-07: New dates for the Open Online R Stream have been scheduled. I've also updated the dates for my office hours.

2023-07-30: I recently attended two conferences, the annual meeting of the Society for Research Synthesis Methodology and the European Congress of Methodology, where I gave presentations on some recent updates to the metafor package and on methods for obtaining confidence intervals for the pseudo-R² statistic in meta-regression models. You can find the slides for those presentations here.

2023-05-09: A new version (4.2-0) of the metafor package has been released on CRAN.

2023-03-29: Just gave a presentation on 'Location-scale models for meta-analysis using the metafor package' as part of the Evidence Synthesis & Meta-Analysis in R Conference. The slides and R code are available here.

2023-03-19: A new version (4.0-0) of the metafor package has been released on CRAN.

2023-03-08: The next book to be covered on my weekly live streams is Regression and Other Stories by Gelman, Hill, and Vehtari. I will intersperse this with some 'Introduction to R' sessions (see the schedule).

2023-02-17: New article out on how to deal with missing standard deviations in meta-analyses of response ratios (i.e., log transformed ratios of means): https://doi.org/10.1111/ele.14144.

2023-02-06: The 2023 Evidence Synthesis and Meta-Analysis in R Conference will take place March 27-31. The conference is completely free (voluntary donations welcome). More details here. On March 24th, I will give a free pre-conference workshop on meta-analysis with R.

2022-11-07: Like many other people, I am migrating from Twitter to Mastodon. My profile there can be found here (or search for me under @wviechtb@scholar.social). Hope to (re)connect with you there!

2022-09-22: I just gave a talk as part of the workshop Open Science: Promoting transparency & replicability in research at the University of Tübingen. I talked about meta-analysis, how it relates to open science, and described various methods for addressing publication bias. The slides from my talk can be found here (and there is also a small R script to illustrate some of the techniques that I described during the talk here).

2022-08-09: I will teach my three-day meta-analysis course again this year, on November 2-4. For further details, see here.

2022-07-19: The next batch of live streams have been scheduled (see here for the schedule).

2022-06-26: A repo at GitHub is now available for my live streams for those that prefer using this way of fetching the materials corresponding to each session.

2022-06-17: I gave a fun little talk yesterday at the DSRI Community Event (DSRI is a cluster computer at Maastricht University) on how I recently used the cluster for a massive Monte Carlo simulation study using 600 cores. The slides from my talk can be found here.

2022-06-02: I am teaching a course on Standard and Advanced Methods for Meta-Analysis with R on September 8-9, 2022, at the University of Zurich. More info can be found here.

2022-06-01: Really happy about this article on location-scale models for meta-analysis appearing in Research Synthesis Methods: https://doi.org/10.1002/jrsm.1562
